Background & Philosophy
About Me
"I like finding the smallest fix for the actual constraint, not the impressive one."
The Path Here
I spent 17 years in the Army, split between hands-on physical roles (combat engineer, field artillery) and tactical communications and network operations. Much of that time was spent overseeing teams tasked with keeping mission-critical networks running in austere field conditions where failure wasn’t an option.
I never had formal ivory-tower computer science training. Everything I know about software, networking, and automation was self-taught—fueled by ADHD hyperfocus. When an operational problem grabs my attention, I dig into it until it makes complete, practical sense. My operating belief has always been simple: if I can figure this out, anyone can.
What I Build Today
Today, I run two primary businesses from Southwest Washington, alongside creating self-serve digital toolkits:
Just In Time Inspections
Licensed residential property inspections across Lewis, Thurston, Pierce, and Cowlitz counties. We help home buyers and sellers separate normal cosmetic maintenance from costly structural dealbreakers with clear, plain-English 48-hour reports.
Just-in-Time Solutions
Systems and automation consulting for local trade contractors and service operators. We find the one bottleneck wasting hours of your day—missed calls, delayed quotes, manual paperwork—build the simplest fix, and hand it off cleanly.
Digital Toolkits & Guides (GuidedByAI)
Self-serve checklists, contractor script packs, and practical AI prompt frameworks sold on Gumroad and Etsy. Built for people who want the ready-to-use template without wading through hundreds of hours of trial and error.
Life on the Farm & Family
I'm the sole income provider for my family, and most of my non-working hours are spent on our small farm in Southwest Washington. My wife and I homeschool our kids, teaching them how to build, think critically, and contribute with their hands.
The farm keeps my screen time honest. Whether pruning our cherry trees, checking fence posts, or fixing water lines, physical work provides an immediate reality check that no digital system can replicate.
